SPACECAM / LINKSPACE STUDIO

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-15

Scope and developer

SpaceCam is made by an individual developer operating under the name LinkSpace Studio. This policy covers the SpaceCam iPhone app and the pages at linkspacestudio.com/spacecam/. It does not cover other LinkSpace products. Contact: support@linkspacestudio.com.

SpaceCam works without a SpaceCam account and does not send your photos, videos, scans or location to a LinkSpace Studio server. We do not operate an advertising or analytics service. Optional YouTube playback uses a third-party online player, which may show ads and process data as explained below. Apple services, website hosting and email support are described separately.

Media and storage choices

SpaceCam album mode stores media in the app’s private storage on your iPhone. Local album mode saves to Apple Photos. Mixed album mode saves a copy in each location. Album names, folder settings, edits, scan drafts, capture history for the current session and usage counters are processed on the device. Descriptions, keywords, flags, notes and recordings are stored with or linked to the relevant media; adding the same item to another album does not create independent annotations.

Capture records may include capture time, camera settings, storage destination, media identifiers and an app/vendor-scoped device identifier supplied by iOS. When sync is enabled, the device identifier stored with private media metadata and sync record identifiers may also be uploaded to your private iCloud database. Original files may contain location metadata, including metadata from imported files. Disabling location for future captures does not remove metadata already embedded in files. These identifiers are not used by us for advertising or tracking.

Optional iCloud sync

Optional iCloud cross-device sync is off by default. When you enable it, private media (including embedded metadata), edits, folders, album membership, media identifiers and selected organization and protection settings are stored in your private iCloud database and use your iCloud storage. Apple processes this data under its iCloud terms and privacy policy. Completed uploads can be retrieved on another iPhone using the same Apple Account after enabling sync there. Changes and deletions sync; this is not a historical backup. Turning sync off stops further syncing on this iPhone without deleting existing cloud copies. Flags, notes and recordings are also included in SpaceCam sync. SpaceCam originals and related user data are eligible for iPhone backups according to your iCloud or computer backup settings; temporary caches are excluded. Restoring unsynced data requires a completed backup including SpaceCam after updating to a version that supports backup. Before deleting SpaceCam or changing phones, confirm sync has completed or export your files. Apple Photos copies follow your separate iCloud Photos settings.

Permissions you control

Camera access is used to capture photos, videos and document scans. Microphone access is used to record video audio and voice notes. Photos access is used to save, browse, select and manage media and albums you allow the app to access. Limited Photos access restricts the available library; Apple may retrieve iCloud originals when you view or export them.

Location access is optional and requested while using the app. When permission and “Save Location in Photo Metadata” are enabled, a recent device location can be embedded in captured photos. You can turn this off in SpaceCam or revoke permission in iPhone Settings. Existing files are not changed, and exported or shared files may still contain their original location metadata.

You can change camera, microphone, Photos, location and Face ID permissions in iPhone Settings. Denying a permission limits the related feature without authorizing another use of your data.

Face ID and device passcode

App lock and access protection for Hidden and Recently Deleted use Apple’s device authentication. iOS handles Face ID, supported biometrics and the iPhone device passcode. SpaceCam receives the authentication result, not your facial data, biometric template or passcode. Lock preferences may be stored in the device Keychain.

Private files use iOS file protection. App locks help restrict access through SpaceCam; they do not protect copies you export or store in Apple Photos. No storage or security measure can guarantee protection in every circumstance.

Purchases and daily capture allowance

Apple processes payments. SpaceCam uses StoreKit to check products, verified transactions and purchase entitlements, including purchase status and expiry where applicable. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple processes its service data under Apple’s Privacy Policy.

The Free daily capture allowance is measured locally on this device. Usage records are not sent to a developer server or synchronized by SpaceCam across devices. Quick Organize and Quick Album shortcuts have no usage quota.

Optional YouTube playback

BabyCam uses YouTube API Services and the official embedded player when you choose a YouTube video. Loading thumbnails or the player connects your device to Google/YouTube. They may process your IP address (including approximate location derived from it), browser or device identifiers, requested video, playback interactions and advertising information to provide playback, security, measurement and ads. Your SpaceCam camera recordings, private library, notes and voice recordings are not uploaded to YouTube by this feature.

The updated player in version 1.0 build 30 and later uses YouTube Privacy Enhanced Mode and temporary WebView storage. Earlier builds use the standard player. Google states that Privacy Enhanced Mode serves non-personalized ads and does not use embedded views to personalize YouTube browsing or ads outside this app. This does not mean no data is collected. Explicit links leaving the player open outside SpaceCam, where the destination’s policies apply. You can avoid these connections by using built-in or imported local videos instead.

Google handles its data under the Google Privacy Policy. See how Google uses information from partner sites and apps and YouTube Privacy Enhanced Mode. Manage relevant Google data and privacy choices in your Google Account. SpaceCam cannot delete Google’s service records for you.

Sharing and exports

Sharing or exporting is initiated by you. Selected files are provided to the destination you choose through iOS, such as AirDrop, Files or another app. The destination’s own policies apply. Check the file contents and metadata before sharing; we do not control recipients’ copies.

Support email and website hosting

If you email support, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to provide. We use them to respond, investigate reported issues and meet applicable legal obligations. Our email service providers process this correspondence to deliver the service. Do not send passwords or unnecessary private media.

The SpaceCam pages are hosted on Netlify. The host may process IP addresses, requested URLs, request times and browser/device information to deliver and secure the website. These pages do not add advertising, analytics scripts or tracking cookies. Hosting providers may retain operational logs under their own policies, including Netlify’s Privacy Policy.

We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising. Support and hosting providers may process data in countries other than yours. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect legal rights, subject to applicable safeguards.

Retention, deletion and your choices

You control locally stored media in the app. Private items in Recently Deleted remain there until you restore or permanently delete them. Apple Photos has its own deletion and recovery behavior. Exported copies must be managed at their destination.

Deleting SpaceCam removes its app container; iOS may retain some Keychain preferences. Neither deleting the app nor switching sync off deletes existing iCloud copies, Apple Photos copies or Apple purchase records. To delete synced private media, delete it in SpaceCam, confirm permanent deletion if intended, and allow sync to complete. You can review app storage controls provided by iCloud in iPhone Settings. We cannot remotely access your private iCloud library or restore permanently deleted media for you.

We retain support correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to resolve the matter and satisfy legal or record-keeping obligations, then delete or anonymize it when no longer needed. Contact support to request access, correction or deletion of information you sent us, or exercise other applicable privacy rights. We may need to verify your request and may retain information where legally required.

Children and policy updates

SpaceCam is not specifically directed to children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through support, contact us so we can address it under applicable law.

We may update this policy when features or data practices change. The current version and effective date are available here and in the app. Material changes will be brought to your attention where required.

Shared imports

When you choose SpaceCam in another app’s share sheet, the source app supplies the selected photo or video files and any included metadata, which may contain capture dates or location. SpaceCam keeps an independent copy without modifying the source. Files, destination choices and a list of SpaceCam albums are stored in a protected on-device container shared only by SpaceCam and its share extension. Pending files are excluded from device backup and are not uploaded by the extension. Open and unlock SpaceCam to finish importing; imported files then follow your existing optional iCloud sync setting. Pending files remain until imported or discarded in Settings > Shared imports. Incomplete, abandoned preparation files are cleaned up after seven days when sharing is used again.

Quick Organize results

SpaceCam saves the date and results of successful Quick Organize actions on your device: reviewed and deleted file counts, known source file sizes, and session-scoped anonymous identifiers to avoid duplicate counting. Results sync through your private iCloud database only when SpaceCam iCloud sync is enabled. They are not sent to LinkSpace Studio. Statistics begin when this feature is first used; older activity is not reconstructed.

“Deleted” includes files successfully moved to Recently Deleted. “Cleaned file size” is the approximate total of known source sizes, not storage already freed on your device. Unavailable sizes are excluded; SpaceCam does not download cloud originals just to calculate these results. Each file counts once per session, including Skip; reviewing it in another session counts as new work. Restoring a file does not erase past results. View saved sessions in Settings → Organizing results. The celebration appears only after all pending changes succeed.
